History
Founded in 1976, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a professional American football team based in Tampa, Florida. The Buccaneers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member team of the National Football Conference (NFC) South division. Along with the Seattle Seahawks, the team joined the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team. The Bucs played their first season in the American Football Conference (AFC) West division as part of an agreement between the two newly formed conferences. When the NFC absorbed four teams from the rival World Football League following that league’s collapse in 1974, Tampa was moved into the NFC Central, where they spent one season before moving to their current home in 1976.
Tampa Bay won Super Bowl XXXVII at the end of their 2002 season, beating AFC champion Oakland Raiders 48–21. It was not only their first winning season since 1982 but also Tampa’s first appearance and win in a Super Bowl. The Buccaneers hold Super Bowl victories over three separate franchises: Oakland (Super Bowl XXXVII), New York Giants (Super Bowl XXXV), and Philadelphia Eagles (Super Bowl XXXIX).
Rivalries
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had many rivalries throughout their history. Some of their most notable rivals include the New Orleans Saints, the Carolina Panthers, and the Atlanta Falcons. They also have a strong rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys, which dates back to their days as an NFC East team.

The Bucs then switched conferences twice, first to the NFC Central in 1978 and back to the AFC West in 2002.

Game Preview
The Buccaneers are scheduled to play the Patriots on Sunday at 1 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since last year’s Super Bowl, which the Patriots won. The Buccaneers are coming off a win against the 49ers in which they looked dominant. The Patriots are coming off a loss to the Texans in which they looked average at best.
Keys to the Game
In order to beat the Buccaneers, the Seahawks will need to focus on the following keys:
1. Establish the run early. This will help keep Tampa Bay’s explosive offense off the field, and give Seattle’s own offense a chance to get into a rhythm.
2. Win the turnover battle. The Seahawks have been plagued by turnovers this season, and they cannot afford to give the ball away against a team like the Buccaneers who can score points in a hurry.
3. Get pressure on Jameis Winston. The young quarterback is prone to making mistakes when he’s under duress, so Seattle’s defense must get after him and force him into turnovers.
Matchups to Watch
When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Carolina Panthers this Sunday, there will be a few key matchups to keep an eye on.
First, all eyes will be on Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans. Evans has had a monster season so far, and he’ll be going up against a Panthers secondary that has been struggling as of late. If Evans can have another big game, it will go a long way towards helping the Bucs come out with a win.
Another matchup to watch is the battle between the Bucs’ offensive line and the Panthers’ defensive line. The Panthers have one of the best pass rushes in the NFL, led by All-Pro defensive end Julius Peppers. If the Bucs’ offensive line can give quarterback Jameis Winston time to throw, they should be able to put up some points. However, if Peppers and company can get to Winston early and often, it could be a long day for the Bucs’ offense.
Finally, keep an eye on how the Panthers use running back Christian McCaffrey. McCaffrey has been one of the most versatile players in the NFL this season, and he’ll likely be used all over the field against Tampa Bay. If he can find some running room against the Bucs’ defense, he could help swing the game in Carolina’s favor.
Predictions
The experts are making their predictions for the upcoming game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are favored by 3.5 points, but the Buccaneers have been playing well lately and could easily pull off an upset.
ESPN’s Football Power Index gives the Panthers a 69.9% chance of winning, while FiveThirtyEight’s Elo model gives them a 63% chance. The panthers are also favored by most of the major sportsbooks, but the line has been dropping as more people bet on the Buccaneers.
So who do you think will win?
