A nostalgic MMO browser game, Genfanad is an open-world MMORPG that boasts stunning visuals and a cool story. The Kickstarter campaign for the project has already reached over $10K in less than one day due to overwhelming support from gamers hungry for classic experiences.
“gloria victis” is a browser MMORPG that has been in development for over 3 years. It is set to open its Kickstarter on September 9th, which means it will hit its $10K ask within the first day.
Last year, we told you about Genfanad, a self-described “nostalgic browser-based MMORPG” that claimed to combine old-school sandbox MMORPG aesthetics with a quirky sense of humour. Developer Rose-Tinted Games had planned a crowdfunding campaign for September 2021 when the game was first announced, but it was pushed out in favor of an alpha event to display the game’s introductory lesson and some of its talents.
That little taste of what Genfanad has to offer seems to have paid off for the developers, as the game’s Kickstarter campaign went online yesterday and reached its fundraising target of $10,000 in the first seven hours. Naturally, funds will go toward stretch goals from here on out, with a tailoring skill set to open at $12.5K, additional character cosmetics at $20K, and the inclusion of pets at $23K. For those who are concerned about the Kickstarter’s modest funding goal, the game’s campaign website explains that the funds will be used to “finance the last leg of production and polish the game for release.”
In terms of the game itself, Genfanad is now playable in a browser, with the complete release aiming for browsers and Steam initially, with a mobile version following later. Before then, a beta test will take place between July and August, with a complete release anticipated for later this year.
