This article will explore the various victory conditions in video games, and how they are achieved. It will also discuss the end conditions of a game, and why they are often so difficult to achieve.
The humankind game is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to defeat the other players. The victory conditions are based on how many points your civilization has at the end of the game.
One of the most thrilling aspects of Humankind is watching your civilization rise to the top, satisfying the game’s Victory Conditions. There’s plenty of fun to be had even if you’re not always pursuing Fame, but if you’re one of those players who insists on winning every match, you’ll want to understand the various End Conditions and why they don’t necessarily decide the greatest player.
The only win condition for Humankind is Fame, an abstract resource that may be obtained via a variety of means. Earning Era Stars (regardless of affinity), building Cultural Wonders, winning battles, obtaining Vassals, and other tasks are among them. Regardless matter how many ways to gain Fame you seek, you must do so while bearing in mind the game’s End Conditions.
Humankind’s End Conditions may be selected from a total of four presets in the Pace menu while setting up your game. The game finishes when you reach any one condition section of your selected preset.

- All the remaining Empires will be vassalized.
- Sending a Mars Mission
- Making the planet inhospitable to human life

The fact that one culture achieves an end state before the others does not mean it is the victor. The only way for humanity to win is for them to amass the most Fame before the game finishes. When we evaluated the game, we were also pleasantly pleased to see that the closing cinematic recognizes your significant accomplishments even if you don’t win.
