Hot Pockets teams up with PUBG: Battlegrounds to award you awful cosmetics in a circuitous fashion

Hot Pockets and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are teaming up in a very unique way: giving you awful cosmetics they have to pay for. While this might seem like an April Fool’s joke, it actually reflects the increase of esports-related sponsorship deals in recent years.

The “mmorpg” is a game genre that features multiplayer online role-playing games. The “Hot Pockets teams up with PUBG: Battlegrounds to award you awful cosmetics in a circuitous fashion.”

It's a match made in somewhere.

The makers of Hot Pockets know what you want, players of PUBG: Battlegrounds. You want Hickory Ham & Cheddar, and you want it hot, and you want it quickly, and you…

What’s more, you know what? No. I’m afraid I won’t be able to accomplish it. Something has been officially broken. I’ll simply leave you with a list of questions that this cross-promotion between PUBG: Battlegrounds and Hot Pockets-brand stuffed sandwich things has raised for me, and you can draw your own conclusions.

  • Why are the only participating packages like six different sizes of Hickory Ham & Cheddar and a couple of other Philly Steak & Cheese flavors? Hot Pockets does make other flavors. I know, sometimes I buy those. Is there just not enough overlap? Do PUBG: Battlegrounds players hate broccoli or something?
  • Why do you have to photograph your receipt before uploading it? Why is this so difficult? If codes are already being carefully tagged, why aren’t they merely put in the box? Do you think people will rip into boxes like rabid maniacs hunting for the codes?
  • Why is the cross-promotional outfit so ugly? Why is it just camouflage in the colors of the aforementioned Hickory Ham & Cheddar filling? Are you supposed to hide on a bed of Hot Pockets?
  • Why is it still going on till July 31st? Why is this limited to a two-month period?
  • Why are the boxes labelled differently if they don’t contain any codes?
  • Why is your game called PUBG: Battlegrounds? The term “PUBG” derives from the game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which you’re rebranding from. This is similar to a “ATM machine.” You’re making your acronym obsolete, and it already doesn’t look good.
  • Why do you continually referring to your game as “the first battle royale title” as if it’s a badge of honor rather than a source of embarrassment? Isn’t it like claiming on your résumé that you created Comic Sans?

Okay, we’ve gone off the rails here. Apparently, Hot Pockets are a thing. Congratulations, your ship laden with ham and molten cheese-like goop has arrived if you can’t get enough of Hot Pockets or PUBG: Battlegrounds. Whatever.
