Diablo 4 Game Director Luis Barriga and Two Other

“From the very beginning of Diablo 3’s development, we knew we wanted to bring the feeling of Diablo 2 players back to the series. The Diablo 2 game world was full of epic and memorable encounters, where the feeling of surviving against impossible odds was key to the game. We wanted to make sure the new Diablo 4 game retains this feel, and that the new game world is full of memorable encounters. We also wanted to make sure that the game world has a sense of continuity, going from the Diablo 3 world to the Diablo 4 world.”

The first Diablo, released in 1996, was the beginning of a 21-year journey for Blizzard Entertainment. Since then, the company has released 9 games, each one expanding the possibilities of the genre and the Diablo series. Today, the team is hard at work to release the 4th game in the series, Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Game Director Luis Barriga and Two Other High-Profile Developers No Longer at Blizzard

Activision Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 Game Director Luis Barriga, Lead Designer Jesse McCree, and World of Warcraft Lead Game Designer Jonathan LeCraft are no longer employed by Blizzard.

Although the business did not provide explanations for their departures, they follow Blizzard President J. Allen Brack’s resignation in the aftermath of a California lawsuit claiming sexual harassment and discrimination.

An Activision Blizzard spokesman informed Kotaku, “We can confirm Luis Barriga, Jesse McCree, and Jonathan LeCraft are no longer with the business.”

Jesse McCree, the iconic cowboy hero from Overwatch, is said to have featured in the now-famous Cosby Suite photo from BlizzCon 2013, with developer Alex Afrasiabi, who was quietly let away from the business in 2020.

As soon as the lawsuit was made public, all references to Afrasiabi were deleted from the game. Overwatch enthusiasts are also requesting that McCree be renamed.

“We already have a strong, skilled team of developers in place, and new leaders have been appointed where necessary. We are confident in our capacity to continue making progress, providing incredible experiences for our gamers, and moving ahead to guarantee a safe and productive working environment for everyone “The following is a quote from Activision Blizzard’s statement.

Diablo 4 is presently in development for PC and consoles, with no estimated release date. Barriga, a 15-year Blizzard veteran, will be replaced, although no one has been named yet.
