There are a lot of cinematic endings in Destiny 2. Seeing a Raid boss’s health bar deplete after hitting that last critical shot. In Crucible, unleash your Super at just the perfect time to clear out a complete Fireteam. Of course, there are real finishers that let you to dispatch your foes in style.

In Destiny 2, finishers are one of the most satisfying and slick ways to kill opponents. In end-game content, they may be essential in bringing out Champions or protected opponents.

Now, although it sounds great, you may be wondering what finishers in Destiny 2 are. How can I get them unlocked and useable? And which of these visceral finishers should I go for? Don’t worry, with our guide to Destiny 2 finishers, we’ve got all the answers you’re searching for.

In Destiny 2, what are Finishers?

In Destiny 2, finishers are a melee combat feature that enables you to take out certain opponents if their health bar is low enough. When an opponent glows, you’ll see a prompt emerge over their heads telling you to execute it and kill them. Instead than being just a fast melee strike or other basic fighting skill, the camera will now draw back to see a prerecorded animation. The sole caveat is that technique does not provide invincibility; you may still be killed in the process.

The feature, which debuted with only a handful of Destiny 2 Shadowkeep finishers as part of the Shadowkeep update, has grown into more than simply a means to kill opponents. You may acquire more ammunition, refill abilities, and even increase life regeneration with the installation of certain finisher modifications.

In Destiny 2, how do you use finishers?

To utilize a finisher, just deplete an enemy’s health and press down on the right thumbstick (if playing on a gamepad). Along with Cross Play, Destiny 2’s upcoming season will have more custom mapping possibilities, allowing you to change the prompt to a different key.

Finishers will no longer be assigned to your character automatically. Instead, go to your inventory menu and go down to the second page, where you may choose your finisher collection. You may like as many finishes as you wish to cycle through at random. Unfortunately, there is no other way to personalize this, so either add a lot for a surprise every time or simply like the one you like the most.

How to Unlock Destiny 2 Finishers

Finishers are categorized as decorative items in Destiny 2, despite the fact that they have a direct impact on combat. This implies, like other cosmetics, there isn’t a tried-and-true way to access them. Some are simply random drops, while others are only available during certain events, and the remainder may be purchased. If you’re serious in growing your collection, there are a few ways that will ensure you acquire a finisher.

Season Passes are available.

Each new season pass comes with an Exotic weapon, Armor Ornaments, Shaders, and one unique finisher. Around Tier 8-10, you can usually expect to unlock a Legendary finisher. Keep in mind that you’ll need to buy the season pass to have access to them.

Eververse

The Eververse offers a large selection of finishes to choose from. Some are Silver-costing weekly specials that rotate out when the game is reset. Others are Silver-cost seasonal exclusives that endure for the whole season. Depending on rarity and whether or not they’re on sale, each of them costs a different price.

Engrams of Light

Bright Engrams are the only other method to get finishers in Destiny 2. These may be obtained by upgrading your Season Pass or by receiving a random reward drop. You can’t select your prize since they are directly linked to the Eververse (and that’s where you turn them in). So simply keep stacking and hoping for a finisher, which comes from a pool of Eververse goods that are no longer for sale.

The 32 best and worst Destiny 2 finishers are ranked from best to worst.

You now understand the fundamentals of Destiny 2 finishers. However, the most crucial issue remains unanswered: who are the greatest Destiny 2 finishers? Let’s take a look at the whole list of Destiny 2 finshers to find out. Just a heads up, there were several additional season-specific finishes that are no longer accessible.

Finisher Options Explained for Armor Mods

There are a several Armor Mods that provide your finishers unique benefits. Except for the Empowered Finisher, which is offered as a Combat Style choice, they are Class Mods, meaning they are applied to your Class Armor. When paired with the appropriate weapon, ability, and Mod choices, any of them may be very effective. Just keep in mind that everytime you finish an opponent, you’ll lose some of your Super, but you’ll get a guaranteed bonus in return.

All of the existing Class Mods that affect your Finisher are listed below:

  • Bulwark Finisher – Finish a fighter with one-fourth of your Super to produce an Overshield.
  • By finishing a combatant, you may use one-tenth of your Super to become Charged With Light.
  • Explosive Finisher — Use one-fifth of your Super to end an opponent and restore grenades.
  • Healthy Finisher – Finish a combatant with one-tenth of your Super to restore health.
  • One-Two Finisher — Finishing an opponent consumes one-sixth of your Super, allowing you to replenish melee powers.
  • Snapload Finisher – Finishers reload all of your weapons and produce Primary ammunition. One-tenth of your Super energy is required.
  • Finisher (Special) – Finishers provide Special ammunition to the whole Fireteam. One-third of your Super energy is required.
  • Utility Finisher – Finish a combatant with one-tenth of your Super to restore class abilities.
